Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using hopt (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. The Service is available at hopt.to (public profiles) and my.hopt.to (dashboard).

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms.

3. Account Registration

When you create an account, you agree to the following:

  • You must provide accurate and complete registration information
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
  • Usernames must be 3–30 characters (letters, numbers, underscores, hyphens) and are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis
  • One account per person — duplicate or automated account creation is prohibited
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

4. Your Content

You retain ownership of the content you create on hopt, including your bio, links, and profile customizations. By posting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display, distribute, and make your content available through the Service (i.e., to render your public profile page). You are solely responsible for the content you publish.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Post content that infringes on intellectual property rights
  • Distribute malware, phishing links, or deceptive URLs
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or our systems
  • Use automated scripts or bots to create accounts or scrape content
  • Engage in harassment, hate speech, or threats via your profile
  • Misrepresent your identity or impersonate others
  • Use the Service to distribute spam or unsolicited messages
  • Post links to NSFW or adult content without enabling link shielding and age verification — all links containing sexually explicit, pornographic, or adult material must be shielded and marked as 18+ so that an age verification prompt is displayed before visitors can access the destination

6. Service Tiers

hopt offers Free and Pro tiers. Pro features are available via paid subscription. We reserve the right to modify pricing, features, and tier structures. Changes to paid plans will be communicated in advance.

7. Intellectual Property

The hopt name, logo (Hopt symbol), design, and underlying technology are our property. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our branding without written permission.

8. Analytics & Data

The Service collects anonymous visitor analytics on public profile pages, including country, device, browser, and referrer data. This data is provided to profile owners via the dashboard. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

9. Third-Party Services

hopt integrates with third-party services including Supabase (authentication and data storage) and Cloudflare (content delivery and edge computing). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time through the dashboard settings. Upon termination, your public profile will no longer be accessible.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

14. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance. We will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
